It has begun! Adam had his first day directing the show they came here to make. We were able to hitch a ride out to the location to watch the grand debut. True Mettle, which will probably get a new name before it's done, is a true WWII story of a man who is shot down and put into a POW camp. To keep from going insane in the camp, he decides to build a violin. Today was the parachuting scene - it take a crane and stuntman to get the shot.

The stuntman started on the ground, then was raised up in a harness by the crane.
Once he was up and the cameras were ready, they would blow fans to open the shoot, then "drop" the stuntman, who rolls when he hits the ground.

Equipment trucks - in the background is also an ambulance that was required for the stuntman.
When the parachute lands, the man gets dragged by the wind blowing his chute. A fan is hiding behind the green screen to help inflate the chute.
Once the parachute was inflated, the stuntman was pulled by 4 guys pulling a rope to look like he was being dragged across the ground.
As he's being dragged, the other pilot, who has already landed, runs and jumps on the pilot being dragged to help him cut his ropes.
Jacob was well layered to stay warm. It looks warmer than it was.

Sarah and I were too tired to make dinner when we got home - mostly because we would have had to shop to replace the food we ate yesterday. So we went to Charlie's Pizza and had beet and pear salad and a yummy creamy chicken soup.
