It's Monday, so all of the museums and other entertainments are closed. We have decided to make this cleaning and laundry day - although I do laundry almost every day. But Mondays mean towels and sometimes bedding gets washed. Since we, that means us and the Kendalls, both chose more expensive apartments this year, we don't get to have a weekly cleaning lady. So the task us up to us!
If I set the expectation ahead of time, Jacob doesn't seem to complain but gets right to work. He swept and mopped our whole side of the flat!
We have our drying rack set up in the spare bedroom, at least until we have guests, which we hope we have! And we are thankful to have a fan again this year.
And what kind of a day would it be if we didn't go to the market! Today our goal was to find some form of Draino - which we found along with 3 bags of groceries! But at least we got everything needed for Tuesday night, Taco night. So hopefully we won't have to go again for a few days! Hahahahaha. Only in my dreams.
I got a shot of the entrance to Rimi today. And yes, more stairs. But I love the rock wall that runs down the right side of the stairs. The whole little market is to the left at the bottom of the stairs. This market even has baskets on wheels with a little handle, which is helpful when buying something heavy, like a gallon's worth of milk.
And since we were going to the store and got stocked up, Sarah and I decided to photograph a few of our favorite things. We certainly couldn't live without these things!
Several times now we have had a dinner of just breads and cheeses with fruit. This is just what we had in the fridge today. We often have much more! My favorite at the moment is the spreadable cheese in the containers in the middle. We have since found other brands and will soon begin comparing and contrasting. Add any variety of delicious breads and we just cannot get enough! Last night was grilled cheese with tomato soup. Another night it was tomato and basil on toasted bread with fresh mozzarella. Sometimes it's just a snack of a slice of yummy bread smothered in spreadable cheese. Jacob's favorite is salami and cheese - any kind will do! It's the stuff dreams are made of!
If cheese is for dreaming, than this is just plain ecstasy! We love Milka chocolate in any flavor, shape and form! Behind the Milka are cookies dipped in chocolate with gooey caramel inside. How about Nutella swirled with something white and creamy. We don't know what the white stuff is, but we love it! Dip a lightly sugared pretzel into the swirly Nutella for a tasty treat, but plain is amazing, too! Chocolate with any form of Hazelnut is delicious. Then end the evening with an After Eight mint. And that is why we must climb lots and lots of stairs! So much for losing weight on this trip!

Tyson did great getting here. My sister and brother-in-law, Allison and Joe, got him off at the Salt Lake Airport - making sure he got bags checked, tickets printed and in the security line. Then the rest was up to him. Scary! I made him a cheat sheet, but I think he mostly did it on his own. It was his 3rd international trip, so he's had some experience with travel and customs. London was the hardest airport to get through. He had to go through customs there, besides the fact that Heathrow Airport is HUGE! The custom's agent didn't like his week's growth of beard - she said it made him look different, but she let him through anyway. There was also a customs check point in Warsaw, but he didn't seem rattled at all by the journey. He's tired, but here and safe! Welcome "home," Tyson!
